KEYWORD SEARCH technology enables your application to search like
your users think.
To users, a keyword is any name, descriptive phrase, or free-form
text – it is how people intuitively remember data they need
to extract from their documents. A keyword can actually be any word
or value in a column or file that is surrounded by spaces or punctuation.
Keyword searches are position-insensitive and case-insensitive.
OMNIDEX indexes each individual keyword as it’s
own entity for instant retrieval. This powerful feature enables
lookups to be resolved instantaneously by simply using the index
to find the values that meet the selection criteria. Keyword queries
are processed in seconds regardless of where the
keyword criteria occur in the data, and with little regard to the
size of the database.
The OMNIDEX database search engine brings the keyword search ability
of Web search engines to information stored within
databases as well as HTML, XML, Flat File and ASCII documents. Furthermore,
it provides quick counts, Boolean logic (AND/OR/NOT), relational
logic (> < =), ranges, sounds-like, partial keys, pattern
matches, table joins, composite keys, case insensitivity, and grouping.
Keyword searches are very powerful and ideally suited for
content rich data because they allow users to find records
using a wide range of user-defined lookup capabilities. OMNIDEX
will provide applications with keyword query capabilities that allow
users to find information instantly by criteria located anywhere
within a data record, using any combination of multiple
fields or columns – even free-form text.
